Despite my own personal belief that duct tape will be the currency of the post-apocalyptic future, screws can still serve as invaluable fixings. They are used to craft weapons, armor, mods, turrets, and even camp features. In Fallout 76, screws are a common requirement but are not always forthcoming.
Fortunately, they can be acquired by scrapping items, while loose screws can be found in the wastelands too. Finally, if you’re cap rich and can’t be arsed hunting them down in the world, you can buy them from vendors.
Fallout 76 Screws As Scrap
Loose screws can be found in the world. They are more often found in toolboxes, so garages and workshops are a good potential source. However, it is easier to scrap items and collect the screws as components in this way.
The following junk items contain screws as scrap:
|Chez Vivi Typewriter||4|
|Clean Pepper Mill||2|
|Giddyup Buttercup Body||2|
|MiniNuke Stabilizer Fins||2|
|New Toy Car||1|
|New Toy Truck||3|
|Office Desk Fan||1|
|Restored Desk Fan||2|
|Souvenir Toy Car||1|
Where To Farm Screws In Fallout 76
Loose screws themselves are difficult to come by, but there are a couple of locations where it is possible to farm screws in Fallout 76 by finding junk items that include screws as scrap. Find a spot and call back whenever you log on. Or, if you’re in desperate need, log off, join another game, and farm screws as much as you like.
Sugar Grove is located to the northeast of the National Isolated Radio Array. You can usually find half a dozen desk fans and some antique globes, for about 16 screws a run. There are enemies inside, but they are low level and should be easy enough to dispatch.
Whitesprings Resort is out near Monongah Power Substation. Inside the shops you will find an array of items like Giddycup Buttercups and globes. The building is also safe, although you will find some ghouls outside the building.
Tag For Search
When you do go hunting for Fallout 76 screws, we suggest using the “Tag for Search” feature. When you see any item that contains screws, a magnifying glass will be displayed next to the item name.
You can use the Scrapper perk card, which grants more components when you scrap items. Honestly, though, there is only a single level of this perk and the improvement is minimal. It isn’t worth the investment of points.
