In Fallout 76, concrete is primarily used for CAMP renovations and upgrades. It is used for some equipment upgrades, too, but it is most likely that you’re looking for CAMP upgrades.
There are a few ways you can get hold of concrete scrap, including buying in bulk from vendors and collecting it from workshops. However, it is also available as scrap from a handful of junk items.
Fallout 76 Concrete Items
There is only a short list of junk items that contain concrete in Fallout 76. Fortunately, though, items like bags of cement are easy to come by, and you shouldn’t need much. The following items will all yield some concrete when scrapped at a bench:
Item | Concrete |
Bag Of Concrete | 7 |
Garden Gnome | 3 |
Lead Pipe | 1 |
Bags of concrete not only contain the most concrete, but they are also the easiest item to find in any kind of bulk. In fact, there are several locations you can farm them.
Concrete Farming

First of all, if you’re desperate for concrete and don’t mind spending a few caps, you can buy bulk cement. Vendors are typically located in train stations. You will also find some in outposts and other buildings, but train stations remain your best option. Flatwoods is one of the first towns you visit in the game, and the Flatwoods vendor does sell bulk concrete so make this your first port of call if your flush with cash.
You can also extract the material at some workshops. Gorge Junkyard Workshop is one such location. You can build a mineral extractor on the concrete pile, once you have claimed the workshop and provided power. This will yield more than 30 concrete an hour, for as long as you hold the workshop.
Finally, you can go scavenging for items. Garden gnomes are found occasionally, while lead pipes only yield a single concrete scrap. Your best bet, then, is to go hunting for bags of cement. One of the easiest spots is New River Gorge Bridge. If you’ve been playing the game for any amount of time, there’s a good chance you’ve visited the bridge. It is just to the South of Flatwoods. Approach the bridge from the North and head South along the bridge. Go up the slope, past the truck, and hop over the wall. Next to the metal box you will find three bags of cement, giving you 21 concrete from a single, quick run.
If you need an absolute ton of the stuff, head to Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06. Here you will find more than a dozen bags of cement, which nets you more than 84 pieces of cement. You shouldn’t run out for a while, no matter what you’re looking to build back at CAMP.
Tag For Search
Whenever you’re on the scavenge, we suggest using the Tag For Search feature. Once you have tagged cement as a commodity you want to look for, the game will highlight objects that contain it with a magnifying glass next to their name. This isn’t foolproof, you can still easily walk past a well camouflaged bag of cement, but it will help.
And, there you go. There shouldn’t be too many occasions when you’re desperately scratching around for concrete, but if you are, we hope the guide above helps you find what you’re looking for.
