Our Fallout 76 Acid guide details the items that can be scrapped down to acid, where you can find them, and other techniques to gather this uncommon crafting resource. It is used primarily to craft chems and explosives. Fortunately, considering how many chems you’re going to want to take during your time playing the game, it is relatively easy to find.
Fallout 76 Acid Junk
One of the easiest and consistently successful ways to gather crafting materials is to scrap junk items. This is also one of the most efficient methods of collecting acid. Some of the items are tricky to come by, while others are found in buildings and outbuildings across Appalachia. Here are the items that can be scrapped to create acid in Fallout 76:
|Abraxo Cleaner Industrial Grade||2|
|Anti Freeze Bottle||2|
|Bag Of Chlorine||3|
|Bag Of Fertilizer||1|
|Cracked Deathclaw Egg||1|
|HalluciGen Gas Canister||5|
|Honey Beast Wing||2|
|Torn Mothman Wing||2|
|Undamaged Abraxo Cleaner||1|
Most of the items that yield decent amounts of acid are either cleaning products, chems, or bits of dead irradiated animal.
Where To Find Acid In Fallout 76
It is possible to buy bulk Acid from vendors around the world. While it isn’t possible to sell individual measures of acid, you can create and sell your own bulk acid to make a few extra caps. Handy if you find yourself in possession of an abundance of the stuff after tapping a deposit, for example.
Alternatively, you can head out and scavenge the items listed above before scrapping them at a workbench.
In particular, you can find multiple bags of cement on the rooftops of Lewisburg, as well as some more at the Flatwood communal gardens and in the greenhouses at the rear of the Vault-Tec Agricultural Research Center. These spots are all available during the early levels and shouldn’t pose too much of a problem.
Tag For Search
Use the Tag For Search feature and tag acid. When you’re scavenging and come across an item that contains the resource, it will have a magnifying glass next to the name, enabling you to quickly determine what to pick and what to sacrifice to save inventory space.
Scavenging is part of Fallout 76, but Acid can be found in deposits littered around the world too. These are found in various spots, but there are a few deposits concentrated on the East bank of the lake in the Northwest of Toxic Valley near the top of your map. Build your CAMP next to one or two of these and build an extractor. This will give you a constant supply of the material.
Alternatively, if you don’t want to set up CAMP in Toxic Valley there is another way. After all, Toxic Valley doesn’t sound the most appealing of locations to set up even a temporary home. The following workshops offer acid as a resource, if you own them:
- Abandoned Bog Town
- Federal Disposal Field HZ21
- Hemlock Holes Maintenance
- Spruce Knob
Hemlock Holes is especially noteworthy because it has 3 acid deposits, whereas the others only offer a single deposit. Each deposit will net you around 25 resources per hour.
